Kid Carpet

Ed Patrick used to be in a band. Then he decided to play with plastic toy instruments as a means to create sounds. Hence his music, which he refers to as 'Kiddie disco punk' is borne from Casio keyboards, plastic guitars and toy telephones. Kid Carpet is an anagram of his real name, “I put my name into an anagram machine and it came up with hundreds of different names. For a week I was carpet kid and then my mate said to me if you're gonna do hip hop you've gotta be Kid Carpet."

Kid Carpet made his live debut at the 21st birthday party of Bristol's Watershed media center in May 2003 and has since toured with many acts including Badly Drawn Boy, Mylo, The Go! Team, Arcade Fire and The Trachtenburg Family Slideshow Players.
