Les Bubb

Les Bubb started performing at the National Youth Theatre and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama in the early eighties. Training continued at the Desmond Jones school of mime in London, and in Paris with Phillipe Gaulier (Le Coq) and Etienne Decroux and his assistants. After sharpening his skills on the streets of Paris and Europe, he made two full length theatre shows; ‘Sonata in Dream Major’ in 1987 and ‘Another Fine Mess’ in 1989/90.

Les quickly became popular with his unique blend of mime and contemporary clowning and supported alternative comedians such as Ben Elton , Stephen Fry and Hugh Laurie, Lenny Henry and Harry Enfield , in theatres across the UK.

Recently, Les has been making himself useful on set of the first three Harry Potter films, as a voice artist for real and ‘virtual characters’ and as a physical acting coach . Heralded as the man who can make a brick interesting and once described as ‘a puppet of God’, Les is a phenomenon to be experienced. A cacophony of comical illusions, Les Bubb is one of the most innovative and accessible physical comics in the world.
