Practice Net Picks up Paperless Office Prize

Cardiff company wins Accounting Web Software Satisfaction Award 2008

November 19, 2008 - Press Dispensary - British office workers waste up to 120 billion pieces of paper every year, costing businesses as much as 10% of their turnover*. Accountancy software specialist, Practice Net, is helping UK Plc pursue the dream of a paperless office to improve productivity, make the workplace more eco-friendly and boost bottom lines. The company has won the 'Software Satisfaction Award 2008' for its document management product, ‘Rapport’.

Dale Rogers, Practice Net’s MD, says: “The Software Satisfaction Awards are decided by the votes of end-users – the people who count. This year, almost 6,000 took the time to provide feedback on business software, making this prestigious award one of the most eagerly sought-after in the industry. When we told our customers ‘Rapport’ was up for an award, we received 18% of the total votes cast in the category, and were pleased that they took time out from their busy schedules to vote, which is the greatest award for any business.”

‘Rapport’ is designed to move all documents over to an electronic format that can be accessed from any logged-in location in the world. Documents are considered in their widest sense, meaning the software works with images, photos and even telephone recordings, as well as traditional office paperwork such as correspondence, reports and memos.

Rapport offers comprehensive features at a low price compared to rival products. Used by hundreds of businesses across the UK, the package includes document generation and scanning, email control, a business diary, job scheduling and a customer-marketing database.

Furthermore, Practice Net's relationship with clients doesn’t end at product purchase: over 50% of the enhancements in the latest version of ‘Rapport’ resulted from end-user suggestions.

Dale Rogers adds: “The UK’s out-of-control office printing environment generates an annual paper mountain more than 8,000 miles high. The bulk consists of drafts and messages that don’t need to be printed and are binned within hours. Practice Net helps companies introduce a workable document management system at a price they’ll find hard to match. And, because we listen to customers' needs, we punch above our weight compared to larger competitors.”

Practice Net is offering a free ebook: ‘How to Achieve the Paperless Office’. To receive a copy, please send an email to by December 31, 2008.

About the Software Satisfaction Award
The Sift Media Software Satisfaction Awards were established in 2006 to reward high standards from software application providers serving UK businesses. The awards are based on the views of genuine buyers and end-users - not those of a judging panel – making them a valuable guide to any business taking the decision to purchase new software applications.
