Leicestershire County Cricket Club to Tour India and Pakistan

Leicestershire to play Delhi and Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman’s XI in 12 day tour of the subcontinent (21 March to 1 April) sponsored by Investors in Cricket

Leicestershire County Cricket Club (LCCC) today embarks on a 12 day, two country tour of the Indian subcontinent sponsored by Investors in Cricket (http://www.iicricket.com). The team will play a two day game against Delhi at the prestigious Roshanara Club ground and three matches against a Pakistan Cricket Board Chairman’s XI in Lahore and Sheikhupura.

LCCC arrives in India on 21 March and will play a two day game against Delhi at the Roshanara ground on 23 and 24th. The Delhi team will be captained by Indian star, Ajay Jadeja.

LCCC will then travel to Pakistan on 26 March. It will play a three day game against a Chairman’s XI starting on 27th at the Gaddafi stadium, Lahore. The Chairman’s XI will be captained by current international, Mohammad Hafeez, and will feature a number of Pakistan’s leading first class players who were not picked to travel to Indian to play in the ongoing Test series. LCCC will then play a 50 over game at Sheikhupura on 31 March and the first ever 20/20 game in Asia on 1 April.

James Whitaker, LCCC’s director of cricket, comments: ‘It is a great opportunity to be touring India and Pakistan in the middle of a major Test series. This will be an excellent way for the lads to work together under their new captain and prepare for the season.’

The team returns to the UK on 2 April.
