India on Board as Yaka Kayaks Wow Mumbai Boat Show

2007-02-28

February 28, 2007 - Press Dispensary - India's appetite for kayaking has been wet by Yaka (http://www.yaka.in) - a Goa based adventure sports company that made a big splash with its launch at the Mumbai International Boat Show on 22-25 February, 2007. With orders coming in from retail outlets and holiday resorts, the popular sport of kayaking will be opened up to a new audience of water sports enthusiasts and holidaymakers in India.

Yaka is the exclusive Indian distributor of the prestigious Perception kayaks. Yaka exhibited a comprehensive range of Perception models at the boat show, and visitors were able to watch on-water demonstrations to see the impressive kayaks in action.

Greg Bourne, director of Yaka, comments: "We may not have exhibited the biggest boats at the Mumbai International Boat Show but the response from retailers and leisure companies was certainly massive. India has the potential to become a top kayaking destination with its vast rivers, challenging rapids, beautiful backwaters and golden beaches, and Yaka can provide the kayak for every type of paddling experience."

James Mitchell, Perception's export manager, comments: "The response to our kayaks at the Mumbai International Boat Show is extremely encouraging and we anticipate a flow of orders from the growing Indian market thanks to Yaka's hard work."
