Battersea Contemporary Art Fair
At Battersea Arts Centre, London, May 16-18, 2008
January 24, 2008 - Press Dispensary - Battersea Contemporary Art Fair (BCAF -
http://www.bcaf.info ), one of the largest, most popular independent art exhibitions in the UK, returns to Battersea Arts Centre, London, on May 16-18, 2008. Now in its sixteenth year, the fair showcases the work of over 150 established and emerging contemporary artists, photographers and sculptors.
The annual event enjoys an enviable reputation as the ‘artists’ art fair’. High quality original print-making, photography and sculpture are available direct from the artist – without a gallery or agent taking a cut.
BCAF has built a loyal audience, and over 3,500 people from around the world are expected to take the opportunity to meet the artists and access an eclectic range of work to suit all tastes and budgets. Collectors can obtain original works - costing from GBP £40 to GBP £4,000 – commission free, which can mean savings of 40% and more.
Maria Newton, director of BCAF, comments: “The Battersea Contemporary Art Fair is tried and tested triumph for both artists and buyers. By cutting out the industry ‘middlemen’, the public enjoy keen prices and personal interaction with the artists, and our competitive stand costs ensure that the fair is on the map for fresh talent and established exhibitors alike."
BCAF is open from 6-9pm on Friday May 16 and 11am-5pm on Saturday May 17 and Sunday May 18 at the Battersea Arts Centre, Battersea Old Town Hall, Lavender Hill, London, SW11 5TN. Highlights of the fair include the popular Friday evening reception with drinks and live jazz music.
