East Sussex celebrates the WordMarch 19, 2008 - Press Dispensary - Word County, the East Sussex programme celebrating the written and spoken word, advances into its second half this coming Sunday, March 23, for an afternoon with Inspector Morse creator, Colin Dexter, followed by ten days of poetry, music, video and theatrical live literature in Eastbourne, Lewes and Hastings.
- Ends - Notes for editors Word County is part of the Spoken and Written Word programme, designed by the East Sussex Arts Partnership, and runs across East Sussex from February to April 2008. The East Sussex Arts Partnership is made up of four district and borough councils and East Sussex County Council, and is supported by Arts Council England.
Colin Dexter appears at 3pm on March 23 in the Gold Room of Eastbourne Winter Garden, Compton Street, Eastbourne. Tickets are £9 (£7 concessions). Eastbourne International starts at 7.45pm upstairs at Bibendum Bar/Restaurant, 1 Grange Road, Eastbourne. Tickets are £5 (£4 concession) on the door. Off Colour starts at 7.30pm, also upstairs at Bibendum Bar/Restaurant. Tickets are £7 (£5 concessions). While in Eastbourne, Jackie will also be working with the Eastbourne Poetry Reading Group.
