New Drug Trial Hope for MS Sufferers

April 16, 2008 - Press Dispensary - The LDN Research Trust (http://www.ldnresearchtrust.org) launches its fundraising effort with MyCharityPage.com (http://www.MyCharityPage.com) to give hope to the two and a half million MS sufferers worldwide. LDN Research Trust expects to raise two million pounds for a drug trial of LDN (Low Dose Naltrexone) as a treatment for Multiple Sclerosis (MS). There are around 85,000 people in the UK suffering from MS and every week around 50 new cases are diagnosed.

LDN is a non toxic drug that is easing the effects of MS for thousands of people throughout the world and is desperately needed to help improve the symptoms of MS. LDN greatly helps with MS at whatever its stage, but because it has not been trialled for MS, very few GPs are prepared to prescribe it. The trial can change this and give new hope to sufferers of primary, secondary, relapsing and remitting MS.

While this is a small budget for a drug trial by many standards, for a small charity like the LDN Research Trust, it’s a great achievement.
