ART LOVERS CUT OUT THE MIDDLE MAN AT BATTERSEA CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR

Battersea Arts Centre, 19th - 21st November 2004

September 08, 2004 - Press Dispensary - The next Battersea Contemporary Art Fair (http://www.bcaf.info ) will take place on 19th - 21st November 2004 at London's Battersea Arts Centre, Lavender Hill, giving art lovers a chance to buy directly from both established artists and fresh talent.

This is the largest artists' fair in the UK, where over 150 painters, sculptors, printmakers and photographers will sell directly to the public with no commission payable to dealers or galleries. It is an opportunity for people to access a broad range of art at competitive prices from GBP25 to GBP2,500.

Around 3,500 people are expected to visit the Fair, which is already attracting interest from artists in South Africa, America, France and Brussels, as well as the UK.

Maria Scaman, Director, comments: 'We're working hard to make contemporary art accessible - it's so relevant for people to meet the artists face to face, talk about their techniques and their inspiration, and browse a whole spectrum of exciting work.'

Established over 13 years ago, the Fair now runs twice a year, in May and November, at Battersea Arts Centre, an English Heritage site and registered charity. It has gained an enviable reputation for attracting an excellent variety of high quality work, and something to suit all tastes and pockets. - ends -
