- Ends - Notes for editors About Merlin Transformations:
Merlin Transformations is a partnership between Alistair and Rebekah Rhind, with all techniques and programmes having been developed and practised over a period spanning three decades. The work mainly involves home visits, but Merlin Transformations has consulting rooms in Essex and greater London, in addition to provision at a network of recognised treatment clinics and centres throughout the UK and abroad. The approach is holistic and is individually tailored to the needs of the clients rather than the ‘one size fits all’ Twelve Step method. Merlin Transformations provides a fully confidential service and is accepted as a provider by all major medical insurance companies. Approximate fees are in the region of £80 - £95 per hour for individual consultations, but if more intensive therapy is required then substantial discounts will apply. All programmes are bespoke, thus fees do vary within these ranges. About the consultants: Alistair Rhind trained as a psychiatric nurse in Scotland in the late 1970s and went on to specialise in addiction and alcoholism therapy under the clinical guidance of Dr Max Glatt, an authority in the field. He has been involved with many recovery clinics in his career, including The Priory. He has trained in both the UK and US in the areas of counselling, psychotherapy, neurolinguistic programming, family therapy and Reiki. Alistair has trained with names such as Paul McKenna (hypnotist and therapist) and Richard Bandler (co-founder of neurolinguistic programming) and teaches addiction recovery techniques to other therapists. Alistair has just finished a month’s intensive therapy in Somerset with a family, concerned friends and relatives who belong to a closed religious community. Rebekah Rhind began her career as a personal fitness trainer and nutritional specialist with specific interest in eating disorders and clinical weight issues, and completed an honours degree in this field. Following successive clinical training in addictions, Rebekah took the position of senior addictions therapist at a private clinic in London before becoming partner to Alistair in developing Merlin Transformations. Rebekah has also trained in psychotherapy and advanced hypnotherapy, neurolinguistic programming, cognitive therapy, inner child therapy and couples therapy. Additionally, she works as a university lecturer in stress management and as a Reiki practitioner. • Case histories: Four patients are happy to speak to the media regarding their own personal recovery stories with help from Merlin Transformation. They include an ex bank manager who now works as a trained addiction therapist and a celebrity photographer. For further information, please contact: |
