Press Dispensary - July 02, 2007 - Leading Californian digital agency Astralcom (http://www.astralcom.com ) is choosing the UK-originated Blue Horizon business park for its launch into the rapidly growing online economic community of Second Life. Today’s appointment comes after a hard won contest between Blue Horizon’s British owner, New Business Horizons Ltd (http://www.nbhorizons.com ), and several other international contenders.
Commenting on the win, Richard Bergér, VP of E-Business at Astralcom says: “We selected NBH (New Business Horizons) because of its professional and ethical business operations and because it approaches the virtual business world with foresight, experience and creative talent.”
Launched less than two months ago, NBH’s Blue Horizon business park is quickly becoming an established landmark on the Second Life landscape, with existing tenants including several well-established ‘real world’ businesses in Film and TV, PR, health and the law. It has also been bolstered by its recent appointment as a Second Life ‘Full Service Developer’.
Using the recognized business park model of purpose-built leased offices supported by communal resources such as a reception, conference and exhibition centres, business hub and – for relaxation – even a beach, park and social club, owner NBH enables tenants to move into Second Life quickly and cost effectively, so that they can experience the environment and explore the business benefits of the virtual world without the considerable outlay and delays of setting up from scratch.
Richard Bergér continues: “NBH offers the most comprehensive suite of services and also provides highly professional and accommodating staff. We are looking forward to having it complete our office in the Blue Horizon business park and then help our own clients establish a presence in the 3-D virtual world.”
NBH co-founder and chief executive Alan Haymes adds: “Second Life is growing rapidly as a global economic powerhouse, as witnessed by the recent high profile arrivals of Sky News and Mercedes Benz. But the cost of entry – buying land and building offices – can deter many businesses just wanting to try it out, which is why we’ve opened the Blue Horizon virtual business park. Astralcom is a very well-established company dipping its toe in the Second Life water, and has recognised exactly what we’re about. We look forward to handing over the keys and welcoming them in.”
