Press release from Press Dispensary

Press Dispensary - March 18, 2008 - Fledgling online fundraising website MyCharityPage.com (http://www.mycharitypage.com ) is launching a competition to find the most inventive and successful fundraiser among its members. The site, which was launched in March 2008 and provides free web space for charities, fundraisers and fundraising event organisers, received over a thousand charity registrations in its first month.

Competition entries will be judged on the nature of the event and the amount of money raised. The fundraiser deemed to have best used the features of MyCharityPage.com to further their cause will win a £500 donation to their fundraising page.

The site, which is described as the charity equivalent of Facebook, has been designed to help people make donations easily, and the facility will no doubt appeal to a generation more used to handling many aspects of their lives online. Features include a personal fundraising page, photos and videos, blogs and forum discussions to encourage users to build networks and raise awareness of their chosen charities. A Facebook application is planned for the end of March.

Any charity can register free of charge, making fundraising much easier for smaller charities. MyCharityPage.com processes donations without commission or administration charges, meaning that donations are passed in full to each charity at the end of each month.

Sarah Robinson, of Hammersmith and Fulham Action on Disability, says: "MyCharityPage.com is a great initiative, it is so easy. We set up both the charity page and our first event in about ten minutes, in two days we have raised £660’’
