Underwired gets Bookmarked

Press Dispensary - February 28, 2005 - Digital agency Underwired (http://www.underwired.com) has designed a dedicated e-card site to promote World Book Day which takes place on 3rd March.

With a number of e-cards also designed by Underwired, http://worldbookday.underwired.com/ is the online element of World Book Day's campaign to encourage people to recommend a good read to friends and family.

The site will be linked from Amazon and promoted by ad agency, Mustoes, which commissioned the design. Mustoes' board account director Damian Horner comments: ‘We chose Underwired for this task because of their fantastic creativity combined with an ability to meet tight deadines. They have surpassed even our ambitious aspirations for the project.’

Underwired director Felix Velarde comments: ‘The first thing you want to do when you finish a good book is to tell people about it. The World Book Day site allows you to do just that with an attractive image and personal message, in a couple of clicks. It's a great 'eWoRM' (electronic Word of Relevant Mouth) campaign, adding cost-free viral distribution to the event.’

Alongside the website, eight million free postcards will be made available throughout the country in libraries, bookshops, bars, cafes, health clubs, heritage sites, and in newspapers and magazines. With eight different designs (in addition to the five e-card designs originated by Underwired) ranging from a Purple Ronnie poem to a collage by Graham Rawle, the postcards are set to appeal to a wide audience.
